Playing Rift on a Mac book Pro

Recently, I got Rift working on my MAC, so I wanted to share how I did it.

Step 1) Download Crossover Games: http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxgames/

Step 2a) Follow this video on install:

Step 2b) When RIFT is done installing, don’t hit “Update” on the patcher! Close it instead, so it’s all done installing.

Step 3) Edit the cfg file, as according to Crossover games support:

Open this cfg file:

/Users/(USER)/Library/Application Support/CrossOver Games/Bottles/RIFT/drive_c/Program Files/RIFT Game/

Change LegacyRenderer to “True”, then save the file and close it.

Step 4) Run RIFT via Crossover, and NOW you can run the updater.

Step 5) You should be good to go. It runs in low quality, but it’s worth it not to boot to windows :)
